Regular Season Round 9: Hap.Petah Tikva - Elitzur Ramla 81-93

D1 top team - Elitzur Ramla (8-0) managed to deliver another win on Thursday. This time they beat ninth ranked Hap.Petah Tikva (1-7) 93-81. The game was mostly controlled by Elitzur Ramla. Hap.Petah Tikva managed to win second period 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Elitzur Ramla made 27-of-33 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Elitzur Ramla outrebounded Hap.Petah Tikva 35-20 including 23 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Jamaican power forward Vanessa Gidden (192-85, college: Hofstra) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. American swingman Tamara James (178-84, college: Miami, FL) chipped in 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Elitzur Ramla players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Juanita Ward (180-86, college: Syracuse, agency: Merit Management Group) who recorded 24 points (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and the other American import forward Kaili McLaren (188-88, college: Connecticut) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Elitzur Ramla have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 8-0 record. Loser Hap.Petah Tikva stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. Elitzur Ramla will meet at home Elitzur Netanya (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hap.Petah Tikva will play against Ramat Hasharon and hope to win that game.
