There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Cocinas.com (4-7) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Lleida Basquet (4-7) 78-60 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Lleida Basquet. Cocinas.com was better in third quarter 16-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lleida Basquet dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Cocinas.com's 24. They outrebounded Cocinas.com 37-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for guard Alex Llorca (192-89) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points and 4 assists. Lithuanian forward Osvaldas Matulionis (200-91, agency: Dynamics Global Management) helped adding 16 points. American-Nigerian forward Zimmy Nwogbo (201-91, college: Cedarville, agency: Duran International) responded with 16 points and American guard Alex Hall (187-90, college: Drury) scored 15 points. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Lleida Basquet moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Melilla and Cocinas.com. Lleida Basquet will face league's leader Leche Rio Breogan in Lugo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
