There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Cadi ICG S. (4-6) edged on the road higher ranked Jopisa Burgos (5-5) 42-41 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Jopisa Burgos won fourth quarter 15-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cadi ICG S. dominated on the defensive end, holding Jopisa Burgos to just 7 points in second quarter. They held Jopisa Burgos to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 32.7 percent accuracy of the winners. American center LaNedra Brown (188-81, college: Seton Hall) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Dutch forward Marlou De Kleijn (182-92, agency: Regeneracom Sports) chipped in 10 points. Center Georgina Bahi (190-89, agency: Regeneracom Sports) produced 12 points and 8 rebounds and Greek forward Katerina Sotiriou (186-84) added 8 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Cadi ICG S. moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Pais Vasco and Conquero. Jopisa Burgos at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Cadi ICG S. will face Pais Vasco (#10) in San Sebastian in the next round. Jopisa Burgos will play on the road against the league's leader Gran Canaria (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
