Regular Season Round 10: Basquete Cearense - Espirito Santo 78-60

Bottom-ranked SKY/Basquete managed to get a third victory. This time they won against fifteenth-ranked Espirito Santo in Aldeota 78-60. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 18-point difference suggests that SKY/Basquete is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. Espirito Santo was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. SKY/Basquete dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Espirito Santo's 28. The former international forward Felipe Ribeiro (201-79) had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international power forward William Drudi (206-81) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four SKY/Basquete players scored in double figures. SKY/Basquete's coach Alberto Bial allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side Eddy Carvalho (194-87) responded with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American point guard C.J. Collins (180-88, college: McNeese St.) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. SKY/Basquete (3-7) moved-up to fourteenth place. Espirito Santo at the other side dropped to the sixteenth position with five games lost. SKY/Basquete will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Espirito Santo will play at home against Unitri (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
