The game in Skopje was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Kumanovo 2009 (7-3) played at the court of 8th ranked Vardar Apave (2-8). Kumanovo 2009 defeated Vardar Apave 84-74 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Kumanovo 2009. Vardar Apave managed to win second period 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Kumanovo 2009 made 8 blocks. It was a great evening for Serbian swingman Vukasin Mandic (200-82) who led his team to a victory scoring 39 points (!!!). Serbian center Uros Lukovic (213-89, agency: Beo Basket) helped adding 18 points, 13 rebounds and 7 blocks. Darko Kostevski (-86) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds and Predrag Pajic (198-93) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. Kumanovo 2009 maintains fourth place with 7-3 record. Vardar Apave lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. Kumanovo 2009 will meet at home league's second-placed Rabotnicki in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vardar Apave will play against Feni Indistrija (#6) in Kavadarci and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
