Regular Season Round 52: Detroit P. - Charlotte B. 106-116

Date: December 20, 2013
The Detroit Pistons apparently felt guilty about their Boston heist, because they came home and gave away all the riches they gained. The Pistons squandered a 20-point home lead Friday and lost 116-106 to the Charlotte Bobcats, denying themselves a chance to get back to .500. The loss at The Palace of Auburn Hills came two days after the Pistons came back from a 21-point deficit to beat the Celtics. The Pistons (13-15) were outscored 22-6 in the last 5:03 and allowed 41 fourth-quarter points. Their biggest hurdles during a stretch when Charlotte scored on 22 of its first 29 second-half possessions were guards Kemba Walker (34 points) and Gerald Henderson (22 points). The last of those possessions, a 3-pointer by Ben Gordon, brought Charlotte within 93-92. The Pistons had the lead to five twice after that, the last time 99-94, before center Al Jefferson took control and the Bobcats scored on seven consecutive possessions in a 16-3 run -- with 13 by Jefferson -- to make it 110-102. Jefferson finished with 24 points and 14 rebounds. Brandon Jennings led six Pistons in double figures with 23 points. The Pistons complete a home back-to-back Saturday against the Houston Rockets.
