Regular Season Round 12: JX Sunflowers - Toyota A. 81-67

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked JX Sunflowers as it allowed them to take a leadership position. JX Sunflowers defeated 4th ranked Toyota A. in Kashiwa 81-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Toyota A.. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. JX Sunflowers made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. JX Sunflowers outrebounded Toyota A. 41-17 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for the former international forward Yuka Mamiya (185-90) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds. The former international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (191-91) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Five JX Sunflowers players scored in double figures. JX Sunflowers' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Mori Binge (180-88) replied with 17 points and 5 assists and international guard Emi Kudeken (165-84) added 15 points in the effort for Toyota A.As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Toyota A. at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with Mitsubishi K. and Fujitsu RW. Toyota A. will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. JX Sunflowers will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Toyota A. in Nagoya.
