Regular Season Round 11: Azovmash - BC Odessa 74-91

The game in Mariupol was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked BC Odessa (8-4) played at the court of 5th ranked Azovmash (6-5). BC Odessa did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 91-74 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by BC Odessa. Azovmash managed to win third quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BC Odessa dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Azovmash's 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Azovmash's players. It was a great evening for American guard Justin Love (189-78, college: St.Louis) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international Andriy Agafonov (208-86, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 24 points and 8 rebounds. Four BC Odessa players scored in double figures. American power forward Coleman Collins (207-86, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Beo Basket) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import swingman Marcus Ginyard (196-87, college: N.Carolina) scored 24 points. Azovmash's coach Sergei Zavalin rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. BC Odessa moved-up to third place, which they share with Ferro-ZNTU. Loser Azovmash keeps the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Halychyna. BC Odessa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Azovmash will play against the league's second-placed Khimik (#2) and hope to secure a win.
