Regular Season Round 13: Toyota A. - JX Sunflowers 57-73

The game between Top Four teams took place in Nagoya. 4th placed host Toyota A. (9-4) lost to first ranked JX Sunflowers (12-1) 73-57It looked good early as Toyota A. took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then JX Sunflowers had a 24-11 second period charge getting the lead and Toyota A. was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 57-73. Guard Aya Okamoto (161-91) nailed 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and the former international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (191-91) accounted for 19 points and 6 rebounds. JX Sunflowers' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Mika Kurihara (178-89) came up with 14 points and 6 rebounds and center Mori Binge (180-88) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Toyota A. in the defeat. Defending champion maintains first place with 12-1 record. Toyota A. at the other side dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. JX Sunflowers will play against Aishin Wings (#7) in Anjo in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Toyota A.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Nagoya Mitsubishi K..
