There was a surprise result in Maykop where ninth ranked Irkut-2 (3-12) edged higher ranked Dynamo-MGTU (8-6) 62-61 on Tuesday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 21-10. But Dynamo-MGTU won third quarter 15-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dmitriy Lagunov (-87) fired 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Aleksandr Balakirev (205-93) chipped in 9 points and 11 rebounds. Power forward Sergey Bolotskikh (206-90) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and point guard Artem Gaposhin (185-91) added 18 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Newly promoted Irkut-2 maintains ninth place in League with 3-12 record. Loser Dynamo-MGTU keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Irkut-2 will have a break next round. Dynamo-MGTU will play against Tegas DR (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
