Regular Season Round 11: Ramat Hasharon - Elitzur Ramla 75-64

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Elitzur Ramla (8-1) on the court of fourth ranked Ramat Hasharon on Thursday night. Visitors were defeated by Ramat Hasharon 75-64. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Elitzur Ramla. The game was mostly controlled by Ramat Hasharon. Elitzur Ramla managed to win third quarter 19-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Elitzur Ramla to just 7 points in second quarter. Ramat Hasharon made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 25 Elitzur Ramla turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American center Shamela Hampton (191-87, college: UNLV) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds. Her fellow American import swingman Megan Frazee (193-87, college: Liberty) contributed with 14 points and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners. Five Ramat Hasharon players scored in double figures. American guard Allison Hightower (178-88, college: LSU, agency: Josep and Nicolas) answered with 27 points and 5 rebounds and Jamaican power forward Vanessa Gidden (192-85, college: Hofstra) added 16 points in the effort for Elitzur Ramla. Ramat Hasharon (6-4) moved-up to third place, which they share with Maccabi R.Hen. Defending champion Elitzur Ramla still keeps top position with one game lost. Ramat Hasharon will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Elitzur Ramla will play at home against Elitzur Netanya and is hoping to win this game.
