Regular Season Round 20: Shanghai S. - Xinjiang FT 95-86

The most important game in the last round took place in Shanghai between second ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (15-5) and fifth ranked Shanghai Sharks (13-7) on Wednesday night. Xinjiang Flying Tige was defeated by Shanghai Sharks in a tough game on the road 86-95. Xinjiang Flying Tige trailed by 16 points at halftime and as many as 17 after three quarters before a 28-20 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 86-95 at the end of the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Xinjiang Flying Tige helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Quincy Douby (190-84, college: Rutgers) orchestrated the victory by scoring 31 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. The other American import Darnell Jackson (203-85, college: Kansas) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. American Lester Hudson (190-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Priority Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international center ZhengDong Tang (213-84) added 16 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Xinjiang Flying Tige. Four Xinjiang Flying Tige players scored in double figures. Xinjiang Flying Tige's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Shanghai Sharks moved-up to fourth place, which they share with DongGuan L. Xinjiang Flying Tige at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. They share it with Beijing Ducks. Shanghai Sharks is looking forward to face Shanxi Zhongyu (#17) in Taiyuan in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Xinjiang Flying Tige will play at home against Sichuan BW (#14) and is hoping to win this game.
