Regular Season Round 13: PGE Turow - AZS Koszalin 102-97 OT

AZS Koszalin (#7) forced the game against PGE Turow (#4) into an overtime, but lost by five points 97-102 on Thursday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of AZS Koszalin. AZS Koszalin trailed by 12 points at halftime and as many as 16 after three quarters before a 35-19 last quarter charge cut the deficit to tie the game 88-88 at the end of regular time. But then they lost overtime period 9-14. PGE Turow looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. AZS Koszalin was plagued by 35 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international power forward Damian Kulig (205-87) fired 27 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American forward J.P. Prince (198-87, college: Tennessee) chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Serbian power forward Dragan Labovic (207-87, agency: Alti Sport) produced 24 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized Israeli point guard Oded Brandwein (179-88, agency: N.E.T.) added 15 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. AZS Koszalin's coach Gasper Okorn rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. PGE Turow maintains fourth place with 8-4 record. AZS Koszalin at the other side dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. PGE Turow will face higher ranked Anwil (#3) in Wloclawek in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. AZS Koszalin will play at home against the league's second-placed Trefl Sopot and hope to win that game.
