Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Cajasol (6-8) lost to seventh ranked CB Canarias (8-5) in Tenerife 59-75 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by CB Canarias. Cajasol was better in second period 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Cajasol to just 7 points in third quarter. CB Canarias dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Cajasol's 24. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Cajasol's players. American forward Lucas Sikma (203-89, college: Portland) orchestrated the victory by scoring 10 points and 7 assists. Montenegrin center Blagota Sekulic (209-82) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Czech point guard Tomas Satoransky (201-91) replied with 17 points and American swingman Scott Bamforth (188-89, college: Weber St.) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Cajasol. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. CB Canarias moved-up to sixth place. Loser Cajasol dropped to the eleventh position with eight games lost. CB Canarias will face league's second-placed Valencia Basket on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Cajasol will play against Blusens Monbus (#16) and hope to win that game.
