Regular Season Round 34: Idaho S. - Rio Grande VV 104-109

The Idaho Stampede lost 109-104 to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on the first night of a back-to-back series. The Vipers outscored the Stampede 41-31 in the third quarter, extending their one-point lead at halftime to 11 points. Idaho guard Pierre Jackson kept the Stampede in the game with 17 points in the third quarter alone. After being down by as much as 14 points in the fourth quarter, Richard Howell brought the Stampede within two points with a short jumper. The Vipers forward Robert Covington split a pair of free throws and Chris Johnson followed up with a lay-up with 1:33 left in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach for the Stampede. Jackson scored 40 points, his fourth 40-point performance of the season. Portland Trail Blazers assignee CJ McCollum added 13 points, six rebounds and six assists in just 17 minutes off the bench.
