Regular Season Round 16: Ratiopharm - Phoenix Hagen 105-90

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Phoenix Hagen (7-9) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked ratiopharm Ulm (10-6) 105-90. The game without a history. ratiopharm Ulm led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 26-of-34 charity shots (76.5 percent) during the game. ratiopharm Ulm players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Quite impressive performance for forward Will Clyburn (201-90, college: Iowa St.) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 7 rebounds. Center Trent Plaisted (211-86, college: BYU, agency: Priority Sports) contributed with 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Forward Larry Gordon (196-87, college: Cal Poly Pomona) replied with 18 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Dino Gregory (200-89, college: Maryland, agency: Two Points) added 12 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Phoenix Hagen. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. ratiopharm Ulm moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Art.Dragons. Phoenix Hagen at the other side keeps the tenth position with nine games lost. ratiopharm Ulm's next round opponent will be higher ranked EWE Baskets (#5) in Oldenburg and it may be quite challenging game. Phoenix Hagen will play at home against Mitteldeutscher BC (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
