Tinguiririca S.F. grabbed the lead in the semifinal series versus Puerto Varas. The top seeded team cruised past their opponents in the playoff opener. The game without a history. Tinguiririca S.F. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to CD Puerto Varas' 30. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Darrien Mack (200, college: Eckerd) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. The former international point guard Franco Morales (179-92) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Four Tinguiririca S.F. players scored in double figures. American Geddes Robinson (195-87, college: Utah Valley) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import forward Grady Reynolds (198-80, college: St.John's) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for CD Puerto Varas.
