Regular Season Round 22: Mississauga P. - Windsor Exp. 88-110

Date: January 5, 2014
The Mississauga Power wrapped up a busy weekend with their ninth straight National Basketball League of Canada loss in this afternoon's 110-88 loss to the host Windsor Express. The Power, who fell to 7-18 after their third loss in as many days, struggled in the second half after trailing 54-59 at halftime. Leading scorer Nick Okorie and newcomer Eric Petty Jr. each finished with 21 points for Mississauga while Morgan Lewis had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Windsor's Chris Commons led all scorers with 27 points. Kevin Loiselle (15 points and 17 rebounds) and Darren Duncan (18 points, 11 assists) each picked up a double-double for the Express. The Power also visited Windsor Friday in a 101-91 loss. Mississauga forward Kirk Williams led his team with 21 points and nine rebounds in that match while Dwight McCombs followed with 20 points and 15 rebounds. Windsor's Quinnel Brown was the game's top-scorer, collecting 24 points with 14 rebounds. From there, the Power came home to the Hershey Centre, where they lost 106-93 to the Ottawa SkyHawks Saturday night. The Power spent a lot of time on the bus this weekend, but McCombs wouldn't use that as an excuse for the team's struggles "Everyone (in the league) is playing back-to-back games right now, so we can't really say that we're tired and they're not," he told The News after scoring 14 points Saturday night. "We just got to go out there and play tough the whole 48 minutes." Okorie led the Power with 18 points Saturday while Ottawa's Justin Tubbs had a game-high 31. The Power will return to the Hershey Centre to host the Express Wednesday night. Courtesy of: mississauga.com
