Ottawa SkyHawks players might eventually experience what it’s like to beat the London Lightning, but not yet. The SkyHawks fell to 0-4 against the two-time National Basketball League of Canada champion by losing 120-108 at Budweiser Gardens in London, Ont., on Sunday afternoon. Eight players scored in double figures for the Lightning (15-6), led by Garrett Williamson with 23 points and Elvin Mims with 17. Stefan Welsh paced the SkyHawks (12-12) with 29 points on 10-for-18 shooting from the field. Justin Tubbs, who was 8-for-11, added 20 points. Beyond those two, though, the SkyHawks struggled offensively. The other eight players on the floor Sunday shot just 20-for-72 (27.8 per cent). London also outrebounded Ottawa 54-44 and held a 25-16 advantage in points from the free-throw line. Sunday’s defeat ended the SkyHawks’ three-game win streak.
