The game between Top Four teams took place in Heidelberg. 3rd ranked host MLP Academics Heidelberg (10-6) lost to first ranked BG Goettingen (13-3) 90-79MLP Academics Heidelberg was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 25-12 charge of BG Goettingen, which allowed them to win the game. BG Goettingen outrebounded MLP Academics Heidelberg 33-20 including 23 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by MLP Academics Heidelberg's players. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of center Harper Kamp (203-88, college: California) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 5 assists and guard Alex Ruoff (198-86, college: W.Virginia) who added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Four BG Goettingen players scored in double figures. BG Goettingen's coach Johannes Roijakkers used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side swingman Shy Ely (194-87, college: Evansville) responded with 21 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Jay Threatt (180-89, college: Delaware St., agency: IBS) scored 24 points. BG Goettingen maintains first position with 13-3 record. MLP Academics Heidelberg at the other side dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. They share the position with Giessen 46ers and Chemnitz. BG Goettingen are looking forward to face BV Chemnitz 99 (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite. MLP Academics Heidelberg will play against Kirchheim Knights and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
