Regular Season Round 5: Tln Kalev - Tarvas 75-73

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Tallinn where 5th ranked BC Rakvere (3-5) was edged by sixth ranked Tln Kalev (3-5) 75-73 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 38-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Tln Kalev looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Ghanian-American Asenso Ampim (203-88, college: Columbia) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. point guard Reimo Tamm (188-84) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four Tln Kalev players scored in double figures. point guard Kristo Saage (187-85) produced 21 points and Lithuanian guard Giedrius Gustas (190-80, agency: Interperformances) added 14 points respectively for the guests. Tln Kalev moved-up to fifth place in Group A, which they share with Tarvas. Tln Kalev will face higher ranked Valmiera (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BC Rakvere will play against Rapla and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
