Regular Season Round 69: Sacramento K. - Portland TB 123-119

Center DeMarcus Cousins had 35 points and 14 rebounds and guard Rudy Gay added 32 points as the high-scoring Sacramento Kings beat the Portland Trail Blazers 123-119 on Tuesday night at Sleep Train Arena. Guard Isaiah Thomas chipped in 22 points and eight assists and forward Derrick Williams contributed 14 points to the Kings' highest-scoring game of the season. Sacramento has scored at least 100 points in 10 straight games and 16 of their past 17. Point guard Damian Lillard led the Trail Blazers with 41 points but had six of Portland's 16 turnovers. Center LaMarcus Aldridge added 24 points and eight rebounds but struggled with his shooting, missing 12 of his 20 shots from the field. The Trail Blazers got as close as 121-119 with 16.5 seconds left, nearly erasing a 19-point deficit with a 36-17 run in the final eight minutes. The Blazers roared out to a 35-24 advantage in the worst defensive first quarter of the season for Sacramento. But the Kings responded by holding Portland to 38 points combined in the second and third quarters and building a 102-83 lead early in the fourth. Portland has lost four of six after a 24-5 start.
