Regular Season Round 23: Qingdao E. - Xinjiang FT 90-105

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (18-5) beat on the road bottom-ranked Qingdao Eagles (3-20) 105-90 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Xinjiang Flying Tige. Qingdao Eagles managed to win second period 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Qingdao Eagles 43-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American Lester Hudson (190-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Priority Sports) who led the winners and scored 27 points and 9 rebounds. Forward James Singleton (203-81, college: Murray St.) accounted for 22 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Xinjiang Flying Tige's coach WanJun Cui used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American-Puerto Rican center Peter Ramos (222-85) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) added 24 points respectively for Qingdao Eagles in the defeat. Four Xinjiang Flying Tige and five Qingdao Eagles players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Xinjiang Flying Tige. They maintain second place with 18-5 record having just two points less than leader Guangdong ST. Qingdao Eagles lost their ninth game in a row. They stay dead last with 20 lost games. Xinjiang Flying Tige will meet Jiangsu Dragons (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Qingdao Eagles will play against Shanxi Zhongyu (#17) in Taiyuan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
