Semi-Finals Game 3: CD Puerto Varas - Tinguiririca S.F. 114-99

CD Puerto Varas stayed alive in the semifinal series versus Tinguiririca. They celebrated the first win at home court and cut the deficit at 1-2. It looked good early as Tinguiririca S.F. took an 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then CD Puerto Varas had a 35-18 second period charge getting the lead and Tinguiririca S.F. was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 99-114. CD Puerto Varas made 28-of-36 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Tinguiririca S.F. turnovers and outrebounded them 41-24 including a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. CD Puerto Varas players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Tinguiririca S.F. was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American forward Grady Reynolds (198-80, college: St.John's) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds. His fellow American import Geddes Robinson (195-87, college: Utah Valley) helped adding 18 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was Venezuelan Tulio Cobos (197-86, college: Northeastern St.) with 31 points and American forward Darrien Mack (200, college: Eckerd) scored 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tinguiririca S.F.'s coach Pablo Ares rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to rest.
