Regular Season Round 22: Radviliskis - Trakai 73-77

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Radviliskis (6-14) was defeated at home by second ranked Trakai (15-5) 77-73 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Radviliskis won third quarter 22-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Forward Julius Kazakauskas (197-90) had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Evaldas Baniulis (201-87, college: S.Carolina) chipped in 18 points during the contest. At the losing side point guard Vitalis Pancerevas (183-87, college: Weatherford JC) responded with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Darius Marcinkevicius (201-91) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Newly promoted Trakai maintains second position with 15-5 record having just two points less than leader Mazeikiai. Loser Radviliskis dropped to the eleventh place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Suduva-Mantinga and Nafta Univers.. Trakai will meet at home TiuMenas-Ezer. (#5) in the next round. Radviliskis will play against the league's leader Mazeikiai (#1) and hope to secure a win.
