Regular Season Round 17: Telekom Bsk - Art.Dragons 64-71

There was a small surprise in Bonn where sixth ranked Artland Dragons (11-6) defeated 4th placed Telekom Baskets (11-6) 71-64. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Telekom Baskets won third quarter 18-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Artland Dragons won last quarter 17-12. They dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Telekom Baskets' 24. American players dominated the game. point guard David Holston (168-86, college: Chicago St., agency: Priority Sports) nailed 17 points for the winning side and swingman Brandon Thomas (198-84, college: Massachusetts, agency: Three Eye Sports) accounted for 11 points and 9 rebounds. point guard Jared Jordan (188-84, college: Marist, agency: Pro One Sports) came up with 16 points and 8 assists and forward Jamel McLean (203-88, college: Xavier) added 17 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Telekom Baskets in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Artland Dragons moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Telekom Bsk. Artland Dragons' next round opponent will be Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#8) in Frankfurt. Telekom Baskets will play on the road against s Oliver Baskets in Wuerzburg and hope to win that game.
