Regular Season Round 24: Fujian QB - Guangsha L. 102-112

The most interesting game of round 24 in the CBA was a home defeat of 8th ranked Fujian (13-11) to sixth ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (14-10) 112-102 in the game for the sixth place. It ended the three-game winning streak of Fujian. The guests trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 28-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Fujian turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St., agency: Three Eye Sports) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and the other American import center Chris Johnson (210-85, college: LSU) who added 21 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. Five Zhejiang Guangsha Lions players scored in double figures. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions' coach Fei Wang used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was international Zhelin Wang (215-94) with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists and American guard Delonte West (192-83, college: St.Joseph's) scored 28 points and 5 assists. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions maintains sixth position with 14-10 record. Fujian at the other side dropped to the seventh place with 11 games lost. They share the position with TianJin S. and Liaoning H.. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions are looking forward to face higher ranked Shanghai Sharks (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Fujian will play against the league's leader Guandong Tigers and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
