Regular Season Round 14: Elitzur Ramla - Maccabi R.Hen 76-66

An interesting game for Elitzur Ramla (10-2) which hosted in Ramla one of their biggest challengers Maccabi Ramat Hen (8-5). Second ranked Elitzur Ramla managed to get a 10-point victory 76-66. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Maccabi Ramat Hen. The game was mostly controlled by Elitzur Ramla. Maccabi Ramat Hen was better in second period 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Maccabi Ramat Hen to just 7 points in first quarter. Elitzur Ramla made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. American players dominated also this game. Guard Allison Hightower (178-88, college: LSU, agency: Josep and Nicolas) scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Tamara James (178-84, college: Miami, FL) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Elitzur Ramla players scored in double figures. Swingman Karima Christmas (182-89, college: Duke) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and Ashley Shields (180-85, college: SW Tenn.St.CC) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Defending champion maintains second position with 10-2 record behind leader Maccabi Ashdod. Maccabi Ramat Hen at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost. Elitzur Ramla will play against Elitzur Holon (#6) on the road in the next round. Maccabi Ramat Hen will play against Ramat Hasharon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
