There was a surprise result when seventh ranked Le Portel (14-10) beat at home higher ranked Chalons-Reims (15-8) 86-78 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 31-22 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Le Portel dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Chalons-Reims' 22. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American Darnell Wilson (198-85, college: Canisius, agency: Court Side) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Benoit Mangin (194-88) who added 13 points and 12 assists during the contest.
