Second Stage Round 1: Basket ROW - MKS Konin 91-77

The game between Top Four teams took place in Rybnik. host Basket ROW (11-10) defeated MKS Konin (1-20)The game was mostly controlled by Basket ROW. MKS Konin was better in third quarter 26-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Basket ROW shot 61.4 percent from the field. Basket ROW outrebounded MKS Konin 37-21 including a 32-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Basket ROW especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward Markel Walker (185-90, college: UCLA, agency: LBM Management) stepped up with a triple-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners and her fellow American import guard Rebecca Harris (176-86, college: Illinois) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Five Basket ROW players scored in double figures. At the losing side Elzbieta Pazdzierska (170-88, agency: Promotex) responded with 28 points and forward Anita Szemraj (182-89) scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. MKS Konin's coach Tomasz Grabianowski tested ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. Basket ROW will face Riviera Gdynia on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. MKS Konin will play against Widzew and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
