Regular Season Round 31: Osaka Evessa - Niigata Albirex 92-71

The game between third ranked Niigata Albirex (18-9) and eighth ranked Osaka Evessa (11-16) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Niigata Albirex was crushed by Osaka Evessa in Osaka 92-71. The game without a history. Osaka Evessa led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Niigata Albirex's 36. They outrebounded Niigata Albirex 42-24 including a 29-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. Center Dillion Sneed (203-84, college: E.Tenn.St.) fired a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Guard Marcus Capers (193-89, college: Washington St.) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Osaka Evessa players scored in double figures. Osaka Evessa's coach Shunsuke Todo felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Rodney Webb (200-83, college: Florida Atlantic) produced 17 points and 6 rebounds and guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Osaka Evessa moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Fukuoka Rizing. Niigata Albirex at the other side dropped to the fifth position with nine games lost. Osaka Evessa is again looking forward to face higher ranked Niigata Albirex (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Niigata Albirex will have a break next round.
