Regular Season Round 45: Texas L. - Austin T. 109-99

The Austin Toros lost their second straight game to the Texas Legends on Saturday night, falling 109-99 in Frisco. The Legends beat the Toros 114-105 last Sunday at Cedar Park Center and are now 2 games ahead of Austin (9-10) in the battle for fourth place in the NBA D-League’s Central Division. P.J. Hairston, who made his NBADL debut after being dismissed from the North Carolina basketball program in December, led the Legends with 22 points. Mickey McConnell had a double-double for Texas, with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Flip Murray scored a game-high 27 points for the Toros, and Courtney Fells had 21 points. Josh Howard, who played for the first time since Dec. 27, had 13 points. The Legends started the game on a 15-6 run, led by 13 after the first quarter and boosted the margin to 21 points at halftime. The Toros fought back in the third quarter, scoring 35 points to Texas’ 27, and outscored the Legends by three in the fourth, but the halftime deficit was too much to overcome.
