Ninth-ranked Arkadia Lions (4-15) gave a tough game to third ranked Zepter Vienna (14-3) in Traiskirchen on Sunday. The visitors from Wien managed to secure only three-point victory 81-78. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Arkadia Lions won fourth quarter 24-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Serbian center Nenad Sulovic (202-85) who scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. Serbian Predrag Miletic (193-84) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds. Bulgarian Dimitar Dimitrov (203-93, agency: Interperformances) produced 25 points and 7 rebounds and Montenegrin power forward Radosav Spasojevic (204-92, agency: Interperformances) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Arkadia Lions players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains third position with 14-3 record behind leader Gussing. Arkadia Lions lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 15 games lost. Zepter Vienna will meet Xion Dukes (#6) in the next round. Arkadia Lions will play against Furstenfeld Panthers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
