Regular Season Round 26: Jilin NE T. - Zhejiang CB 136-120

There was a minor upset in Changchun where 11th ranked Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (12-14) was defeated by fourteenth ranked Jilin Tigers (9-17) 136-120 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Jilin Tigers. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank was better in fourth quarter 52-33. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Jilin Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 86 of its points in the paint compared to Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank's 60. They outrebounded Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank 55-39 including 17 on the offensive glass. Jilin Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Leon Rodgers (201-80, college: N.Illinois) who had a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Power forward Denzel Bowles (208-89, college: JMU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 32 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Dewarick Spencer (193-82, college: Arkansas St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) produced 28 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) added 23 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jilin Tigers maintains fourteenth position with 9-17 record. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank at the other side keeps the eleventh place with 14 games lost. Jilin Tigers will face higher ranked TianJin Steel (#6) in Tianjin in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
