Regular Season Round 26: Qingdao E. - Jiangsu D. 122-133

Not a big story in a game when 18th ranked Qingdao Eagles (3-23) were defeated at home by twelfth ranked Jiangsu Dragons (12-14) 133-122 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 36-24 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Jiangsu Dragons especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Qingdao Eagles were plagued by 36 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American forward Marcus Haislip (208-80, college: Tennessee) who scored 40 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. The former international point guard XueFeng Hu (185-80) chipped in 24 points and 4 assists. Palestinian center Sani Sakakini (204-88) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 23 rebounds and Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) added 39 points (!!!) respectively for the hosts. Five Jiangsu Dragons and four Qingdao Eagles players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jiangsu Dragons moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Zhejiang CB. Qingdao Eagles lost twelfth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 23 lost games. Jiangsu Dragons will face Sichuan BW (#13) at home in the next round. Qingdao Eagles will play against Bayi Rockets (#17) in Ningbo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
