Toros de Nueve Laredo snatched a tough victory over hosting Bambuqueros in Neiva in the opening game of Liga Americas campaign for both sides. Six played scored in double digits for Toros. Rougeau came up with 18 points and 10 rebounds to pace the visitors. Bambuqueros got to a strong start. They hosts accumulated a 25:22 lead ten minutes into the encounter. The Colombian team stayed in charge throughout the second quarter. Bambuqueros accumulated a 47:43 halftime advantage. Toros narrowed the deficit in the third term. The Mexican team trimmed the distance at a single point heading into the fourth stanza. Rougeau and Allen put Toros in front for a 91:87 advantage with 10 seconds to go. Carter pulled the hosts within two points but it was as close as Bambuqueros could get. Henning, Vasquez and Allen chipped in 14 points each for the visitors. Carter answered with 22 points for Bambuqueros. Ortiz netted 15 points in the loss.
