Regular Season Round 16: Polpharma - PGE Turow 79-82

Eleventh-ranked Polpharma (3-13) made lots of trouble for second ranked PGE Turow (12-4) in Starogard. The visitors from Zgorzelec managed to secure only three-point victory 82-79. However their fans expected much easier game. Polpharma cut a 15-point halftime deficit to three at the end of the game. Worth to mention a great performance of international Lukasz Wisniewski (186-84, college: Barton County CC, agency: Promotex) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 assists. Serbian center Ivan Zigeranovic (212-84, agency: BeoExcell) contributed with 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. PGE Turow's coach Miodrag Rajkovic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American Kevin Johnson (201-84, college: Humboldt St., agency: Hart Sports Mngm) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds and Lithuanian point guard Ovidijus Varanauskas (187-91) added 19 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) in the effort for Polpharma. Four PGE Turow and five Polpharma players scored in double figures. PGE Turow have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 12-4 record behind leader Stelmet ZG, which they share with Trefl Sopot. Polpharma lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Stabill Jezioro and Kotwica. PGE Turow will play against Kotwica (#10) in Kolobrzeg in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Polpharma will play on the road against Trefl Sopot and hopes to get back on the winning track.
