The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Hannover Tigers as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group North. Hannover Tigers smashed 12th ranked Stade at home 103-61. The game without a history. Hannover Tigers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 27-of-34 free shots (79.4 percent) during the game. Hannover Tigers outrebounded Stade 42-25 including a 31-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. 26 personal fouls committed by Stade helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Benjamin Fumey (203-87, college: Valparaiso) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 7 rebounds and forward Jannik Lodders (198-92) who added 15 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Hannover Tigers players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Markus Timm (205-88) responded with 10 points and 7 rebounds and guard Steffen Kiese (189-87) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Rist Wedel. Stade lost twelfth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 13 games lost. Stade will play next round against Recklinghausen trying to get back on the winning streak. Hannover Tigers will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked BSW Sixers in Sandersdorf.
