Regular Season Round 17: JX Sunflowers - Ebara Vickies 94-73

WJBL top team - JX Sunflowers (16-1) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Ebara Vickies (1-16) in Kashiwa 94-73. The game was mostly controlled by JX Sunflowers. Ebara Vickies managed to win fourth quarter 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Ebara Vickies 44-24 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (191-91) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Aya Okamoto (161-91) chipped in 23 points and 7 rebounds. JX Sunflowers' coach Kiyomi Sato felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Yuki Morimoto (177-84) produced 24 points and guard Inamoto Satoko (165-84) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. JX Sunflowers have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 16-1 record. Ebara Vickies lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 16 games lost. They share it with Yamanashi QB. JX Sunflowers will meet at home Hitachi Cougars (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ebara Vickies will play against Mitsubishi K. and hope to win that game.
