Regular Season Round 19: Impuls BGUIR - Svisloch 74-91

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Minsk. Second ranked Svisloch faced 4th placed Impuls BGUIR. Guests from Osipovichi (15-4) defeated host Impuls BGUIR (7-12) 91-74. It looked good early as Impuls BGUIR took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Svisloch had a 20-11 second period charge getting the lead and Impuls BGUIR was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 74-91. Svisloch made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Impuls BGUIR turnovers. Impuls BGUIR was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Siarhei Vabishchevich (192-88) who helped to win the game recording 29 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Ukrainian center Maksym Kozlovets (205-90) contributed with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Henadziy Zahar (198-92) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and guard Valentin Ignatchyk (193-91) added 14 points and 5 assists in the effort for Impuls BGUIR. Five Svisloch and four Impuls BGUIR players scored in double figures. Svisloch have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 15-4 record having four points less than leader Grodno-93. Impuls BGUIR lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Tsmoki-Minsk II. Svisloch will play against league's leader Grodno-93 on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Impuls BGUIR will play against Borisfen in Mogilev and hopes to get back on the winning track.
