Regular Season Round 90: Cleveland C. - N.Orleans P. 89-100

A strong first quarter was negated by a second quarter where the Cavs were inept offensively and the New Orleans Pelicans left the Q with a 100-89 win. Only 15 second-quarter points derailed the Cavalier express, as the Pelicans surged to a 56-44 halftime lead. It would be an 18-point New Orleans lead after three quarters as the visitors put their stamp on the game. Anthony Davis led the way for the Pelicans, scoring 30 and pulling down 7 rebounds. Eric Gordon added 20 for New Orleans. Cavs All Star Kyrie Irving led the way with 23 while Dion Waiters chipped in 21. Tyler Zeller, getting the start due to Anderson Varejao’s knee bruise, scored 13 and grabbed 10 rebounds. NBA number one pick Anthony Bennett finally shook off the nerves, and scored 15 with 8 boards. The Cavs won just one game of the just concluded 5-game homestand.
