Regular Season Round 55: Delaware 87ers - Austin T. 91-87

For the second day in a row, the Austin Toros fell on the road to the team with the worst record in the NBA Development League. Despite Josh Howard leading all scorers with 19 points, the Toros fell to the Delaware 87ers, 91-87 in Newark, Del., on Tuesday. Damian Saunders lead the 87ers with 17 points, six rebounds and four blocks. Howard scored ten points in the opening quarter to give the Toros (10-14) a 24-18 advantage, but he only scored nine points the rest of the way. Eric Dawson had a double-double, scoring 14 points to go with his 17 rebounds. The 87ers (7-21) started the second quarter on an 11-0 run and outscored the Toros by 15 in the period to take a nine point halftime lead. Trailing by 11 in the fourth quarter, the Toros’ attempt at a comeback fell short as they cut the lead to two points with 31 seconds remaining. A layup by Lorenzo Brown sealed the win for the 87ers.
