Regular Season Round 26: Le Portel - Nantes 78-70

Very predictable result when seventh ranked Le Portel (15-11) won against at home 12th ranked Nantes (11-15) 78-70 on Tuesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Nantes won third quarter 25-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Le Portel especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Naturalized Guyanese Armand Charles (196-83) notched 18 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and power forward Charles-Henri Bronchard (200-82, agency: Court Side) supported him with 11 points and 7 rebounds. Four Le Portel players scored in double figures. Even 14 points and 6 rebounds by American Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) did not help to save the game for Nantes. Swingman Nicolas Gayon (190-82) added 15 points for the guests. Le Portel moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Evreux. Loser Nantes keeps the twelfth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Boulazac and Souffel. Le Portel will meet league's leader SO Maritime Boulogne in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Nantes will play against SPO Rouen (#15) and hope to secure a win.
