Regular Season Round 24: Laurier - Windsor 80-94

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Waterloo, ON. Second ranked Lancers faced one of their biggest challengers Golden Hawks. Guests from Windsor, ON (13-5) defeated host Golden Hawks (7-10) 94-80. The game was mostly controlled by Lancers. Golden Hawks was better in second period 27-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lancers dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Golden Hawks' 40. They outrebounded Golden Hawks 43-31 including 29 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by the former international forward Lien Phillip (203-89) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds and point guard Enrico Diloreto (185-90) supported him with 18 points. Even 34 points (!!!) by guard William Coulthard (188) did not help to save the game for Golden Hawks. Guard Jamar Forde (190) added 15 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lancers have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 13-5 record having just one point less than leader McMaster. Golden Hawks at the other side keep the third place with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
