Regular Season Round 17: PGE Turow - Kotwica 84-71

Everything went according to plan when second ranked PGE Turow (13-4) defeated 10th ranked Kotwica (3-14) in Zgorzelec 84-71 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by PGE Turow. Kotwica was better in third quarter 23-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. PGE Turow forced 25 Kotwica turnovers. Strangely Kotwica outrebounded PGE Turow 41-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. American forward J.P. Prince (198-87, college: Tennessee) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. The former international power forward Damian Kulig (205-87) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. PGE Turow's coach Miodrag Rajkovic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Jessie Sapp (186-86, college: Georgetown) answered with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import power forward Terell Parks (204-91, college: W.Illinois) added 14 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Kotwica. Four PGE Turow and five Kotwica players scored in double figures. PGE Turow have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 13-4 record behind leader Stelmet ZG, which they share with Trefl Sopot. Kotwica lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 14 games lost. PGE Turow will face Energa Czarni (#5) in Slupsk in the next round. Kotwica will play at home against Trefl Sopot (#3) and hope to win that game.
