Regular Season Round 17: Asseco - Energa Czarni 56-67

Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Energa Czarni (10-7) won against 7th ranked Asseco (8-9) in Gdynia 67-56 on Saturday. American Roderick Trice (190-84, college: S.Carolina) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import center Garrett Stutz (212-90, college: Wichita St.) contributed with 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Energa Czarni's coach Andrej Urlep used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard A.J. Walton (184-90, college: Baylor) answered with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Lithuanian center Ovidijus Galdikas (217-88) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Asseco. Energa Czarni moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Anwil. Asseco at the other side keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. Energa Czarni will face league's second-placed PGE Turow in Zgorzelec in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Asseco will play on the road against Rosa Radom (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
