Regular Season Round 96: Washington W. - Portland TB 100-90

The Washington Wizards defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 100-90 at the Verizon Center tonight, putting them above .500 for the first time since 2009. With this win, the Wizards have now won four of its last six games. Ball protection was Portland’s (34-14) doom, coughing up the ball 16 times to Washington’s six. John Wall led Washington (24-23) with 22 points, five rebounds and five assists. Trevor Ariza put in 20 points and knocked down a game-high four threes. Kevin Seraphin dropped in a season-high 19 points off the bench. Bradley Beal scored 13 points and handed out five assists. Portland's bench tallied only six points, total. Damian Lillard had a team-high 25 points to go along with five rebounds and eight assists. LaMarcus Aldridge finished the game with 20 points, 10 rebounds and a season-high six assists. Nicolas Batum chipped in 18 points. Robin Lopez supplied 12 points and eight boards. Wesley Matthews scored all of his nine points in the second quarter. For the second consecutive game, Batum guarded the opposing team’s point guard (Wall), forcing Lillard to check the shooting guard (Beal).
