No shocking result in a game when second ranked Gee-Gees (18-2) crushed 6th ranked Golden Gaels (9-11) in Ottawa, ON 103-76 on Friday. The game without a history. Gee-Gees led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Gee-Gees looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Quite impressive performance for guard Terry Thomas (193) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Johnny Berhanemeskel (185) contributed with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Nikola Misljencevic (196) replied with 10 points and guard Sukhpreet Singh (188) added 12 points and 5 assists in the effort for Golden Gaels. Five Gee-Gees and four Golden Gaels players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Gee-Gees have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Alberta. Loser Golden Gaels dropped to the third place with 11 games lost. Gee-Gees will face Lions (#5) in Toronto, ON in the next round. Golden Gaels will play on the road against the league's leader Ravens in Ottawa, ON and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
