Regular Season Round 30: Jilin NE T. - Shanghai S. 102-98

There was an upset when higher ranked Shanghai Sharks (17-13) lost to fourteenth ranked Jilin Tigers (11-19) in Changchun 98-102 on Friday. Shanghai Sharks were trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 34-29 charge of Jilin Tigers, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Shanghai Sharks were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American forward Leon Rodgers (201-80, college: N.Illinois) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds. Jordanian guard Osama Daghles (198-79, college: Midwestern St.) contributed with a triple-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 18 assists for the winners. American Darnell Jackson (203-85, college: Kansas) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Quincy Douby (190-84, college: Rutgers) added 20 points and 5 assists in the effort for Shanghai Sharks. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Jilin Tigers maintains fourteenth position with 11-19 record. Loser Shanghai Sharks keep the seventh place with 13 games lost. Jilin Tigers will face league's second-placed Xinjiang Flying Tige in Urumqi in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
