Regular Season Round 21: Chemnitz - Crailsheim 77-79

The most exciting game of round 21 in the ProA took place in Chemnitz. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 5th ranked BV Chemnitz 99 (12-9) to second ranked Crailsheim Merlins (16-5) 79-77 on Saturday evening. BV Chemnitz 99 was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 21-18 charge of Crailsheim Merlins, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for American point guard Carlos Medlock (183-87, college: E.Michigan) who led his team to a victory with 12 points, 8 assists and 5 steals. point guard Philipp Friedel (185-87) contributed with 15 points for the winners. American forward Brandon Robinson (198-89, college: Clayton St.) answered with 24 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward Trevor Noack (201-91, college: Belmont) added 18 points in the effort for BV Chemnitz 99. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Crailsheim Merlins have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain second place with 16-5 record having just two points less than leader Goettingen. BV Chemnitz 99 at the other side dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. They share it with NBC and Heidelberg. Crailsheim Merlins are looking forward to face Ehingen/Urspringschule (#5) in Allmendingen in the next round. BV Chemnitz 99 will play on the road against Oettinger Rockets Gotha and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
